Girls alum Allison Williams has split from husband, Ricky Van Veen after almost four years of marriage.
The couple issued a joint statement on Thursday announcing the news they have decided to end their marriage.
“With mutual love and respect, we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are grateful for the friendship that we have and will continue to have,” Van and Williams said in a statement to Page Six.
The website went on to share a source close to the couple revealed they are incredibly different people, which is what led to the demise of their marriage.

“Allison really is Type A, a real go-getter. while Ricky is far more relaxed and laid-back. Things just haven’t been going well recently,” the source admitted.
It is unclear exactly when Van and Williams separated. However, Page Six explains it has been quite a while since the duo was out together.
“Every time I’ve seen Allison out recently, Ricky’s been nowhere to be seen,” the same source shared with the website.
Once the split news was revealed, fans were quick to announce on social media that it had been over a year since Williams and Veen were photographed in public together. While that could be an indication the marriage has been over for a while, it could also mean nothing since they have tried to keep their private life low-key.
Allison Williams, who is the daughter of MNSBC host Brian Williams, wed Ricky Van Veen in November 2015. It was an elaborate and lavish affair that included several of Hollywood’s biggest names.
They said “I Do” at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming and were married by Tom Hanks. Gusts such as Lena Dunham, Katy Perry, John Mayer, Jemima Kirke, Barry Diller, Seth Meyers, and Zosia Mamet watched them become husband and wife.
She rose to fame on the hit HBO show, while he is known for being the co-founder of brands like CollegeHumor and the video platform Vimeo.
The couple does not have any children. They do share a multimillion-dollar apartment in New York City though.
Neither has spoken out individually since the divorce news broke but based on Page Six, it is believed they have been split for quite some time.
