There is so much drama going on in Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy, fans can’t wait for the ABC show to return from winter break. Earlier this week, the network announced that Grey’s would have a supersized season – adding three episodes, for a total of 25 – and that means we have a lot to look forward to when the lovelorn surgeons of Grey Sloan Memorial return later this month.
According to ABC’s synopsis for the next episode titled “Shelter from the Storm,” the mid-season premiere will pick up exactly where the fall finale left off.

“The windstorm continues to blow through Seattle; and after the power goes out at Grey Sloan, the doctors are left scrambling to save their patients’ lives, including Meredith who desperately needs to get to Cece for her heart transplant.”
DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) will also get to know Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) on a much deeper level, but we can’t forget about Link (Chris Carmack), the other part of this love triangle, who will also get the chance to bond with Meredith. Gianniotti says that both guys have a lot of pros and cons, and we have seen why each of them would be good for Meredith. But, there is also the possibility that neither of them will end up with her.
Meredith and Link will also butt heads on a professional level when she questions his laid-back approach to a patient’s treatment.
In another major storyline, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) worries about Catherine (Debbie Allen), Richard (James Picken Jr.), and Jackson (Jesse Williams) not coming to terms with Catherine’s cancer diagnosis.
As for the other triangle – Owen, Teddy, and Amelia – the ABC preview for the next episode teases that Amelia will finally find out about Teddy and Owen’s baby.
There will also be a guest star coming for a multi-episode arc – Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey. The speculation is that she will play Jo’s mom.

Pompeo recently took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and credited them with the show’s success. Grey’s Anatomy is the top-rated ABC show of the season, and when it hits episode 332 in a few weeks, it will officially become the longest-running primetime medical drama in television history – passing ER.
Ironically, they will mark the occasion with a Chandra Wilson-directed episode that will feature zero medicine.
Grey’s Anatomy will return for its winter premiere on January 17th.
