Earlier today, it was announced that Nick Jonas is going to be part of The Voice alongside John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton next year! But that means that Gwen Stefani is not set to return in 2020 so fans want to know why that is!
As you may know, the songstress just came back in season 17 and now she’s already leaving again!
According to ET, the situation is just a result of the show’s process of rotating coaches every season.
Apparently that is just to allow the big names to continue their careers in the music industry.
In other words, Gwen was always supposed to be back for only one season.
The star is planning on going back to Las Vegas for her last few Just a Girl residency dates in February and May of 2020.
That is also when the singing competition’s spring cycle would air so it would be quite difficult for her to be on The Voice.
On the other hand, as far as Nick is concerned, the cycle is perfect for his schedule since the Jonas Brothers’ tour ends on February 22.
Of course, there is nothing that says Gwen would not be part of the show in future seasons.
While that is yet to be announced, the singer has mentioned before, while chatting with ET, that she felt ‘alive’ while being involved in two projects at the same time.
‘I didn’t expect to be doing [the Vegas show] and The Voice at the same time. I just feel like I am alive in a way I have never been before, because I have to be! Because doing both is a lot,’ she dished to the news outlet.
