According to a report from People.com, Gwyneth Paltrow had her 13-year-old daughter in mind when she came out to tell her stories of sexual harassment regarding Harvey Weinstein. As it was previously reported, Paltrow was one of the first few women who accused Harvey of sexual harassment back in 2017.
Gwyneth, the CEO of Goop and Hollywood actress, first accused Harvey of harassment in late 2017. The star claimed she was 22-years-old at the time of the altercation.
During her appearence on the Today show this past Thursday, Paltrow, who is now 46, discussed the assault and how her now-15-year-old daughter played a crucial role in her decision to come out.
According to The Avengers alum, at that time, she felt as though society and the culture punished women for revealing their stores, so she chose to stay silent for a while. Paltrow claimed she couldn’t handle the idea of her daughter being harassed in the workplace or elsewhere, so when she sensed the cultural shift, she wanted to be a part of it.
The actress stated that she never once imagined the shift in force would be that immense, but she felt “proud” to play a small role in it. Fans of the actress know she has a 15-year-old daughter named, Apple, as well as a 13-year-old named Moses whom she shares with the Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.

Earlier this year, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, the journalists who helped break the story, appeared on the show to discuss Gwyneth’s fundamental part in the reports that led to Harvey Weinstein’s downfall and the subsequent #MeToo movement that rocked the world.
Megan and Jodi published the women’s stories of assault, including Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, as well as the aforementioned Paltrow. They were among the first to come forward with their stories. According to Twohey, Weinstein once showed up to Paltrow’s house early for a party and she hid in the bathroom.
The journalist added that she believed Harvey was concerned about the repercussions of one of the biggest actresses in the world coming out with her story.
