According to a new survey, nearly half of Britain is not fond of the idea of Prince Charles taking over the throne after the passing of Queen Elizabeth! That being said, the public would rather have him abdicate!
This survey was done by BMG Research on behalf of The Independent and revealed that no less than 46 percent of the British population would prefer if Charles gave up the throne in favor of his oldest son, Prince William!
The Independent states that over 1,500 subject polled said they think Prince Charles should not become king and 27% strongly supported the idea that William should be passed the crown directly.
Furthermore, the report also shared that preference reigned high within the 18 to 24 age group.
As for those that would ‘strongly oppose’ this move, they amounted to 13 percent!
20 percent think Charles’ wife, Camilla should be receiving the queen title in case her husband becomes king.
These are definitely very interesting poll results but not entirely surprising since everyone loves the two brothers, Prince William, and Prince Harry.
And since Harry is very far down the line to the throne, William is the best option in their eyes.
Besides, Prince Charles has lived quite a controversial life, so not a lot of people are his fans.
The man got candid about royal life in a documentary for his 70th birthday back in November.
He said at the time that ‘I think it’s vital to remember there’s only room for one sovereign at a time, not two. But the idea somehow that I’m going to go on exactly the same way, if I have to succeed, is complete nonsense.’
