Harvey Weinstein Denies Wrongdoing Again - Says His Only Regret Is Neglecting Relationships And 'Lashing Out' Due To Stress

In an email to CNN, Harvey Weinstein, just one day before his sexual assault trial is slated to begin on Monday, claims he never sexually assaulted or harassed women, nor did he use his position and status in Hollywood to threaten the future of women’s careers if they refused his advances.

According to the email, obtained by CNN, the last two years of the embattled producer’s life has been “grueling,” however, the former Weinstein Company mogul claims to have used this past time to reflect on his life, including many of his decisions, especially in relation to his intimate relationships.

Harvey told the outlet that if there is one thing he’s guilty of, it’s working too hard and neglecting those closest to him. Weinstein described the last two years as a “great opportunity for self-reflection,” adding that his drive for success led him to neglect important loved ones.

Furthermore, Weinstein claims he’s guilty of falling prey to stress and lashing out at others. Weinstein stated, “I have been in rehab since October of 2017,” a time used for rehabilitating his need for control. Currently, Weinstein is free on a $2 million bail bond while he awaits his trial in the Manhattan Supreme Court.

Harvey is facing off against two counts of predatory sexual assault. If convicted, he may have to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Some of the allegations he’s facing include the supposed rape on the 59-year-old, Annabella Sciorra.

Annabella states he raped her in the early 1990s. She’s also gearing up to testify. There are another two women in the indictment. One of the women in the case, whose identity has never been disclosed, claims the producer raped her in 2013.

Mimi Haleyi, a production assistant, also claims Harvey forcibly performed oral sex on her thirteen years ago in 2006. During a conversation with the Sunday Times of London, Lou Godbold stated it’s like “drawing a boil.” In other words, the last two years have been building up to what is to come next.

She told the outlet that it was scary it all falls on just two cases, despite around 80 women coming forward to accuse Harvey Weinstein of some kind of sexual misconduct. When asked by CNN if he felt empathy for any of the purported victims, Harvey said he did have “empathetic opinions” for certain individuals, but wouldn’t offer anymore commentary than that.
