After separating in April and filing for divorce in October, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are now in a custody battle over their five-year-old daughter, Everly. And, a new report claims that this is having a negative impact on the little girl.
According to Radar Online, earlier this week Tatum filed a detailed request for a custody order to be put into place. In the court documents, the 21 Jump Street star claimed that he and Dewan do not have a set custody schedule, and this has caused Everly to suffer.

“Transitions for Everly during this time were not smooth because Everly did not have a consistent plan and would not know when she would next see her mom or me. I saw that this would frustrate Everly,” wrote Tatum.
He added that his daughter has told him many times that she wants to know the schedule. And, Everly asks him and the nanny to promise that they will follow through with what they say will happen.
The actor says that he and Dewan have been creating a schedule for Everly every month, but he wants them to make a schedule for the entire year. He is requesting that Everly split her time during the week with each of her parents during the school year and alternate the weekends, spend multiple weeks with each parent during the summer, and alternate major holidays.
Tatum also proposes that he and Dewan both spend Halloween with Everly. And, he also wants to spend Everly’s birthday with her and his ex or split the day in two, so each parent has the chance to see her that day.
Tatum told the court that he has been renting a home near Everly’s school, and he and his daughter enjoy swimming and rock climbing in the backyard. This is where Everly spends her time with her dad, and he has decorated his daughter’s room with a fairytale and fantasy theme.

Dewan has not yet responded to her ex’s custody request, but her attorney, Samantha Spector, says that they look forward to resolving the custody situation quickly and in a “straightforward way.” She adds that for Dewan, nothing in the world is more important than the comfort and well-being of her daughter. And, she keeps this in mind with everything she does.
In the most recent issue of Cosmopolitan, Dewan said that she dealt with the end of her eight-year marriage to Channing Tatum by letting herself cry and grieve instead of running away from her feelings.
“This is one of those situations where I will see the light. The dawn is coming,” said Jenna Dewan.
