Halle Berry is known for her age-defying beauty, and sometimes it’s easy to forget that the Oscar-winning actress was once very sick. In fact, back in 1989, Halle Berry was filming the television series Living Dolls, where the stunning 54-year-old played the role of Emily Franklin. lapsed into a diabetic coma. Halle didn’t know she had type 1 diabetes and after surviving the harrowing medical emergency, began making lifestyle changes that enabled her to live a fulling life and have an award-winning career.
Those who follow Halle Berry on her official Instagram account understand that she lives a low-carb lifestyle and ensures that she works out faithfully to stay in shape. Every Friday, Halle shares a workout video with celebrity trainer Peter Lee Thomas, who is credited with helping Halle maintain her famous physique. Halle is the mom of two children, Nahla Ariela, 12, and Maceo Robert, 7, and Halle used healthy nutrition and fitness to stay in her best shape throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond. Halle recently spoke to Variety magazine about her fears of being at risk during the Coronavirus pandemic. Though she has successfully managed her Diabetes for decades, she is still at high risk for developing severe complications should she contract the virus. Speaking to Variety, Halle Berry stated the following as she described the extra steps she’s taking to protect herself from the virus.
I do feel at risk,” she says, referring to her diabetes. “I’m very strict about quarantining and who is in my bubble. We have a whole section of the house: When you go out in the world and buy something, it has to sit in this purgatory.
