Having conservative political views in Hollywood is pretty rare. But, Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight, took his conservative politics to a whole new level recently when he posted a two-part video on Twitter praising President Donald Trump and calling him the greatest President since Abraham Lincoln. How will Jolie react to her dad’s pro-Trump tweets?

In an effort to rally his fellow Republicans ahead of the 2020 Presidential election, Voight posted a video he titled “To my fellow Americans,” and said that the United States is stronger, safer, and has more jobs because Mr. Trump has made every move correctly.

The 80-year-old actor also said that the job of President is not easy because, in addition to running the country, he has to battle the left and “their absurd words of destruction.”

“Don’t be fooled by the political left because we are the people of this nation that is witnessing triumph. So let us stand with our president,” said the Oscar-winning actor.

Just like everything else related to the current POTUS, reaction to the video was mixed: Republicans loved it and Democrats hated it. And, since the vast majority of people in Hollywood lean left, the response from other celebrities was not positive.

According to 106.3 The Groove, former Who’s The Boss and Charmed star Alyssa Milano called Voight an “F-lister” who is trying to “stay relevant.” She also called Voight a “has been” and told him to stay in his lane.

Some people even begged Jolie to “stage an intervention.”

Voight is a conservative who has supported the Republican party for years, and he wasn’t afraid to support Trump during the 2016 election despite the controversy surrounding his attitudes toward women. The actor is obviously happy with the President’s first term in office, despite the trade war he has started with China, and the complicated relationship Voight has with his daughter probably won’t lead to her intervening anytime soon.

The actor has a right to his opinions, even if they are unpopular. It will be interesting, though, to see if Angelina Jolie – who has her own record of political activism and humanitarian work – will publicly react to the video.
