Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end for COVID-19 since countries across the globe are starting to distribute the vaccine!
As long as people are doing their ‘duty’ and getting the vaccine, we should be back to normal in no time!
That being said, some celebs have already gotten it, making sure to protect themselves and others against the novel coronavirus!
One of the first, and the most well known of the bunch is actor Ian McKellen!
The man apparently received two doses of the new vaccine at Queen Mary University Hospital in London, as first reported by Evening Standard.
He also addressed the situation, telling the news outlet that he simply felt like it was his duty to get vaccinated as soon as possible and that everyone else out there should feel the same in order to stop the spread of the dangerous virus.
‘It’s a special day, I feel euphoric. Anyone who’s lived as long as I have is alive because they’ve had previous vaccinations, the take up among the older generation will be 100 percent — it ought to be — because you are having it not only for yourself but for people who you’re close to – you are doing your bit for our society. Of course, it’s painless… it is convenient, and getting in touch and also, meeting NHS staff and saying thank you to them for how hard they have been working is a bonus.’
He went on to say that ‘I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone. … I feel lucky to have had the vaccine.’

The UK was the first Western country to distribute the vaccine, with citizens first getting vaccinated at the beginning of this month.
As for the United States, the vaccine started to be rolled out on Monday.
The very first person who got inoculated in America was a critical care nurse named Sandra Lindsay!
