For months, former Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel has been battling Kathryn Dennis in court over custody of their two children, and a new report claims that the exes are spending way more money than they expected. On top of the custody case, Ravenel has sued Bravo and is also facing criminal charges for assault. Could Ravenel be going broke over all of his legal troubles?
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Ravenel has put his 4-bedroom home – Brooklyn Plantation – up for sale, and he is asking $3.9 million which is a million more than he paid for it. The 4,284 square foot home sits on 60 acres and features an eight-acre polo field, a two-story horse barn, and a two-bedroom apartment.

During Season 6 of Southern Charm, Dennis went on a spending spree even though she had huge legal bills and rented a 5-story house for $6,600 a month and she also bought a Rolls Royce. Her co-stars came down on her hard over the excessive spending, and she has since moved out of the house and sold the car.
“I’m just trying to be more responsible on the whole with my finances,” said Dennis. “That’s part of the reason why I moved out of the [townhouse]. It was too large of an amount of money to be spending when I need to be building savings.”
Dennis admitted that her custody battle is costing her a lot of cash, and the 26-year-old says she now has to adult in every way.
During a recent episode of Southern Charm, Dennis explained that she is used to “people talking s**t” about her because she was with Ravenel and that made her act crazy. She also ended up going to rehab and losing her kids for three years, so Dennis has a hard time with people calling her out for her behavior.
This is why she ended up fighting with her best friend, Dani Baird, but the two have gotten past their feud and are once again on good terms.
After losing custody of Kensie, 5, and Saint, 3, Dennis was able to regain 50/50 custody with Ravenel after successfully completing rehab and getting clean. But, after Ravenel’s arrest for assault last fall, Dennis filed for full custody.

Ravenel believes Bravo persuaded Dennis to file for custody so it could be a drama-filled storyline on Southern Charm, and he is attempting to stop them from airing anything related to the custody battle via his lawsuit against the network.
Thomas Ravenel’s custody case, lawsuit, and criminal assault case are all ongoing.
New episodes of Southern Charm air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
