Another day, another White House staffer testing positive for the COVID-19 virus! This time around, it is someone working closely with Ivanka Trump!
After a Donald Trump personal valet and the press secretary for V.P. Mike Pence were confirmed to be infected with the virus, new reports claim that Ivanka’s personal assistant has also tested positive for the coronavirus!
However, the First Daughter is apparently totally safe since she hasn’t had any personal contact with the said assistant.
According to CNN White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins, the assistant has only been working from home for weeks.
Furthermore, it’s been reported that both Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner tested negative for COVID-19 just yesterday, May 8, the test results being revealed only a few hours before the news of her assistant testing positive made its way to the public.
Late last night, Collins tweeted: ‘Ivanka Trump’s personal assistant has tested positive for coronavirus, I’m told. The assistant, who works in personal capacity, has not been around Ivanka in several weeks and has been teleworking. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner both tested negative today, source says.’
This new piece of news comes after it was confirmed that Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller tested positive as well.
Donald Trump addressed the reports and also used this opportunity to shade the testing.
‘Katie, she tested very good for a long period of time and then all of the sudden today she tested positive. She has not come into contact with me. She spent some time with the V.P. She tested positive out of the blue. This is why the concept of tests are not necessarily great…I understand Mike has been tested and he tested negative,’ the president told reporters at the White House!
Indeed, both Trump and Pence have reportedly tested negative for COVID-19.
