Jada Pinkett Smith was hesitant to interview Jordyn Woods on Red Table Talk following her cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson.

It was one of the most highly anticipated interviews of the year. Woods was going to speak her truth for what went down with Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy, after weeks of being bullied in the media and online.

Jada was utterly supportive of the 21-year-old, even having her husband Will video call in so Woods knew the Smith family had her back during the interview. However, leading up to the conversation, the Gotham star was reluctant to even let Will’s goddaughter on her talk show.

“Jordyn really felt like it was the only safe place that she could do that interview. It actually wasn’t something I wanted to do because it was very close to home, but as time transpired, Jordyn was just like, ‘I really need you in this platform’ and Will Smith felt like it was supremely important. So, I was like, okay let’s do it,” Jada shared with People magazine.

When it was revealed Woods was going to sit down with Jada, fans were shocked Red Table Talkhad landed such big interview. Plus, Kylie Jenner was good friends with Jaden Smith, so the decision to have Woods on the show was rather enticing to fans.

However, it was soon revealed the Woods and Smith’s have a strong family connection. Their bond goes much deeper than any relationship the Hollywood stars had with the Kardashian and Jenner family.
