The actress got candid about her eating disorder, which was, of course, a horrible time in her life. Jameela Jamil is very outspoken when it comes to body image so it makes sense that she would openly talk about this but still, she seemed more honest and open than ever!

The Good Place cast member took to social media to share a throwback pic of her from September of 2009 and told her followers that she was struggling with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder.

While the star was quite thin and felt ‘weak’ at the time, she couldn’t help but still think she was ‘too fat.’

‘This was a sad day ten years ago. I did not want to go to this event because I was convinced I was ‘too fat’ and that I’d be publicly fat-shamed the next day. I was so weak, I just managed to stay for ten mins. Eating disorders/dysmorphia are wild. I missed my teens/twenties💔. The therapy that used to help me was called EMDR, it works faster so it was also much cheaper. CBT did not work for me personally,’ she wrote.

Jameela went on to tell people that ‘So if it doesn’t work for you, try EMDR. It’s free in some countries. I’m thankful to the brilliant ‘I Weigh’ community for helping my recovery. Love you. ❤️.’

A lot of fans wrote to her about their own struggles and she continued to reply for hours before she tweeted out once again, saying that she felt devastated to read what they had to say.

‘The replies to this make me sad that so many others felt the same way. ❤️ But are also very sweet and open. We are in this together. X,’ her tweet read.
