Jay-Z Got Too Close To Aaliyah In Photos That Surfaced -- Fans Wonder If Dame Dash Was Telling The Truth?

The former relationship between Jay-Z and Aaliyah is still under a lot of speculation, despite the long period that has passed since the two had anything going on between them.

Many have been saying that this story should be put to rest, especially in light of what happened to Aaliyah afterward, but it does not seem like this is going to happen anytime soon.

Quite the opposite, fans just recently saw the release of new photos from a party around the year 2000, which seems to show Jay-Z and Aaliyah getting quite handsy with each other.

A source told The Daily Mail that the photos were taken at a party in 2000 when Jay, who was 30 and single, and Aaliyah, 21, was in a relationship.

The person stated: “Jay-Z had just had a big hit with Big Pimpin’, and he decided to have this party with Damon and the rest of his crew for the Fourth of July. Diddy was there too. Now that Damon has said what he said, it all makes sense. Jay-Z was all over Aaliyah. They were hugging each other, and you could totally see there was a chemistry between them. I knew that Damon was going out with her, so I did think it was a little weird.”

This has reignited rumors that the rapper was going all the way to get together with Aaliyah, despite the controversial responses to his intentions.

Many of his fans have been critical towards him for his alleged actions, and some have been calling him out on what they have described as inappropriate behavior because the late diva was dating his pal Dame Dash.

At the same time, others have defended Jay-Z, pointing out that the situation was quite a bit different during the time he was allegedly involved with Aaliyah, and pointing towards the various specific details of what was going on around her.

Jay-Z himself has not commented on the new developments too much, and it looks like the rapper has actually been doing his best to avoid drawing any extra attention to himself in light of what had happened.

Jay-Z, who is now married to Beyonce, has been dealing with his own fair share of problems with his image lately, which could explain his more distant attitude.

Dame said this recently about the matter: “I did not mean to fall in love with Aaliyah, and she was just that cool. But you know, we were both going hard… everybody was trying to get to Aaliyah — it was not just Jay.”

He went on to reveal: “I did not know Jay was trying to holler at her, but then it just happened like that. He was trying, and I was trying. Everybody was trying — he was going hard.”
