The host was quick to ask if anything happened between them off the internet and she insisted that it did not.

As for the comment that sparked the rumors, it was left under a pic from the BBMAs that Jenna had posted and captioned: ‘Billboard Awards — ’twas such a fun night!!!!! Thank you for having me.’

Nick wrote: ‘‘Twas. ‘Twasn’t it.’

While it’s clear that he was amused by the way she wrote it and wanted to use that old language form himself, for fun, many wondered if there wasn’t more happening between them.

After all, what he wrote can sound a bit flirty as well, as if he did know it was a fun night because they had spent it together or something.
