Brad Pitt was spotted at Jennifer Aniston’s birthday bash over the weekend, and new information has surfaced about their rekindled friendship. The pair, who divorced in 2005, allegedly reunited in the spring of 2016 after the passing of Aniston’s mom, Nancy Dow.

Pitt renewed his friendship with Aniston around four months before his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, filed for divorce. Inside sources claim that Pitt and Aniston have continued their friendship over the past few years. This is allegedly one reason why Pitt attended Aniston’s birthday party, an event usually reserved for her close friends.

“Brad contacted Jen after her mom died, and she was touched that he knew what a difficult time it was,” an insider dished.

The source also told Daily Mail that Aniston reached out to Pitt amid his bitter custody war with Jolie. The actress reportedly said that she would testify as a character witness on his behalf to help fight the accusations that were threatening to ruin his reputation.

The insider noted that Pitt was touched by the offer, and the two have remained in close contact ever since. This includes calling each other and texting on a regular basis.

Pitt, of course, shocked fans when he showed up at Aniston’s birthday party last weekend. Pitt and Aniston shared a quick hug at the start of the event, which was hosted by West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower hotel.

Sources claim that Pitt wanted to show his support for Aniston and enjoyed mingling with some old friends. The World War Z star spent most of his time talking with George Clooney and Orlando Bloom before leaving the party a little early. He has not commented on the rumors surrounding his relationship with Aniston, which has sparked plenty of speculation about a potential romance.

Despite the romance rumors, insiders claim that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are only friends and have no interest in rekindling things. They do, however, plan on remaining friends and hope to continue their relationship for the foreseeable future.
