Nearly two months after his release from federal prison, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and his wife Lauren are celebrating their first wedding anniversary. The couple celebrated on Friday, November 1st, and they commemorated the day with some sweet Instagram posts.
Sorrentino posted two pics of his wife from their wedding day, and he wrote in the caption that it was the best day of his life because he got to marry his best friend, soul mate, and college sweetheart. Sorrentino also called his wife “my Queen,” and he posted two more pics of the couple celebrating their anniversary at Anjelica’s Restaurant and Butcher’s Block in Long Branch, New Jersey.
In her posts, Lauren shared a video and a series of pictures, and she wrote in the caption that the day was “magical.” She also thanked her husband for being loving and supportive, and she also called Mike “the rock” in their family.
“I couldn’t do this life without you,” wrote Lauren. “I love you forever!”
While the couple’s wedding was featured this season on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation with a multi-episode arc, the couple has released their full wedding video on their YouTube channel for fans to enjoy.
The video features everything from the bride and groom preparing to walk down the aisle to toasts from Jersey Shore stars Paul “DJ Paul D” Del Vecchio and Vinny Guadagnino. The rest of Sorrentino’s co-stars were also in attendance, including Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Jenni ‘JWoww” Farley, Deena Nicole Cortese, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
As fans know, the couple had an extraordinary obstacle during their first year as husband and wife, as Mike reported to Federal Correctional Institution, Otisville in January and spent eight months behind bars for tax evasion before his release on September 12th.
Mike Sorrentino made the most of his time behind bars and was able to lose 35 pounds with intermittent fasting and working out two to three times a day.
“I had to continually challenge myself, whether it was in the gym, or my diet,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I was reading books, the Bible and trying to progress spiritually as well. Because if you do not keep yourself busy in there … I saw a lot of guys that weren’t doing those things and you saw depression and anxiety take control.”
New episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation air Thursday nights on MTV.
