The most recent episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation featured star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro checking into rehab, and a preview for the next episode shows him opening up about the 30-day stint he completed to deal with depression and alcohol abuse. However, the episodes are airing at the same time that eyewitnesses claim he fell off the wagon at MTV’s VMA’s.

“I feel really good,” the 33-year-old tells Vinny Guadagnino and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio in the preview. “I did 30 days in treatment. I needed it, man. Too much s–t was going on.”

Ortiz-Magro said that he went to rehab for himself and for his one-year-old daughter Ariana, who he shares with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Jen Harley. He says he was making decisions that a father shouldn’t make, but after rehab he felt like a different person and he was “back to being who I used to be.”

Earlier this summer Ortiz-Magro told Page Six that he and Harley were doing better after his rehab stay, and he needed to change himself for things to get better. He says he felt like he was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, which is insanity. And, it was time for him to take a step back and gain control of himself.

However, eyewitnesses caught Ortiz-Magro boozing it up at the VMA’s, which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on August 26th. The spy says that the Jersey Shore star and a male friend ordered spiked lemonade and they also carried two glasses of red wine. They also claim that Ortiz-Magro hopped to two different bars in the concourse area and downed at least five drinks.

The witness also claimed that Ortiz-Magro was “getting annoyed” by fans taking pictures of him, and “he was constantly on his phone” while “looking for shots.”

Just after he finished his rehab stint, Ortiz-Magro explained to Us Weekly that he was making the wrong decisions and was depressed, and it was the depression that caused him to drink. And, this was just a never-ending spiral because when he would drink, bad things happened because he wasn’t reacting the way he should.
