Jill Duggar Shocks Counting On Fans By Telling Them To Leave Abusive Relationships

Former Counting On star Jill Duggar has shocked fans by encouraging women who are in abusive relationships to leave their husbands. The message is a surprising one, considering the fact that the Duggar family doesn’t believe in divorce. But, Jill recently shared her own thoughts on the subject after learning one of her closest friends had escaped a relationship filled with domestic violence.

“A friend of mine recently shared on social media her story as a victim of abuse,” revealed Jill in her Instagram Story. “Thankfully, she made it out of the harmful relationship alive.”

Jill also shared statistics, citing that one in three women and one in four men have experienced some form of physical violence by a partner, but not all abusive behavior is considered domestic violence. Things like slapping, shoving, and pushing can also be a form of physical violence, said Jill, and it’s something that should be addressed.

The mother of Israel and Samuel told her fans to support those who need help around you, and then she quoted a Bible verse from Proverbs that said people should “rescue those who are being taken away to death.”

Jill also shared a checklist from the Instagram account “Understanding the Narc,” to help people identify sociopathic traits in partners.

The 28-year-old did her research, and shared an article written by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence titled “Why Do Victims Stay?” And, she explained to fans that the most dangerous time for a victim of domestic violence is when they leave their abuser.

Ironically, in the article Jill shared, the organization talks about how some women have a hard time leaving an abusive relationship because of their religion, as some don’t believe in divorce and promote outdated gender roles.

Jill was very clear about her friend’s situation being the inspiration for the post, but some fans believe it was her subtle way of telling fans that she was the one suffering from domestic abuse at the hands of her controversial husband, Derick Dillard.
