Jinger Duggar Shocks Counting On Fans With Her Latest Fashion Statement

Counting On fans know star Jinger Duggar as the rebel of the family. She was the first female sibling to defy dad Jim Bob’s dress code by wearing pants, shorter skirts, sleeveless shirts, and heels, and now she has shocked her Instagram followers by dramatically changing her hair.

No, Jinger didn’t cut off her long, wavy hair, but she did go blonde for the summer, and this is the first time fans have seen a member of the family dye their hair such a noticeably different color. The 25-year-old posted a pic of her new look, and she wrote in the caption that she opted for “blonde balayage” before moving to Los Angeles with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, and their 10-month-old daughter, Felicity.

Balayage is a free-hand highlighting technique that creates a gradual color change from dark to light towards the ends. It gives a sun-kissed look like you’ve been on the beach all summer.

The reaction from fans was overwhelmingly positive, with most thinking that it was the perfect choice for a soon-to-be California girl.

“Wow😍 that’s looks amazing 🤩 is it just me or have we never seen a Duggar dye their hair?” wrote one follower, with another adding, “Omg I feel like this is a milestone for the Duggars😱 she looks amazing!”

According to Romper, this is the most dramatic hair color change for a female Duggar that fans have ever seen during their more than ten years on television, but coloring their hair isn’t forbidden. Years ago on an episode of 19 Kids & Counting, family matriarch Michelle received a birthday makeover that included a haircut and foils.

When the oldest Duggar daughters wrote their book Growing Up Duggar five years ago, they explained that the women in the family keep their hair long because of a Bible verse.

“Our hairstyle is our choice and we choose longer hair based on our understanding of 1 Corinthians 11:14-15,” wrote Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger. “While it is a shame for a man to have long hair, a woman’s hair is her glory.”

Michelle has also revealed during interviews that her husband Jim Bob prefers her hair long, and “what he likes is what I want” because she is still trying to impress him after more than 30 years of marriage.

Next month, Jinger, Jeremy, and Felicity will relocate to Los Angeles from Laredo, Texas, so he can continue his education at The Master’s Seminary. While they are sad to leave behind their friends in Laredo, the couple says they are looking forward to this new chapter in their lives.
