Joe Biden Talks About The Fight For Racial Equality - 'We Can't Let Up!'

Joe Biden made it clear that one of his goals if he becomes president of the United States is finally achieving racial equality! The Democratic nominee appeared at the Democratic National Convention yesterday and delivered a speech focusing on this massive issue that the country is still dealing with.

At some point, Biden had a virtual discussion with social justice activist Jamira Burley, the Mayor of Chicago, Lori E. Lightfoot, NAACP President Derrick Johnson, Houston Police Chief, Art Acevedo, as well as with the mother of Eric Garner, author, Gwen Carr.

They had a heartfelt conversation about the measures needed to be taken in order for America to get closer and closer to having equality, fairness and justice for everyone, regardless of skin color.

Joe Biden made sure to ask Carr how she was doing seeing how history repeated itself not too long ago, George Floyd saying the same words her own son said when he was being killed: ‘I can’t breathe.’

‘I know when my son was murdered, there was a pretty big uprising, but then it settled down. We cannot let it settle down. We have to go to politicians, we have to hold their feet to fire. I am asking that if you become president, that we get national law, and state and local law, especially when it comes to police brutality,’ the author stated.

Biden stressed that ‘I think people are ready… we just have to keep pushing. We can’t let up.’

This also comes after Joe Biden had a discussion with Cardi B as well, telling the rapper that he is really hopeful about her generation.

‘You’re the smartest, the best educated, the least prejudiced, and the most engaged generation in history. And you’re going to change things. I will make mistakes as president, but I will admit to the mistakes I make, and you are never going to have to wonder whether I will keep my word. Just check me out; I have never broken my word. Never in my life,’ the presidential candidate insisted.
