Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice has had quite an eventful 2019 filled with highs and lows. And now, he is ready to put it all behind him and start the new year.
Giudice started 2019 in federal prison, finishing up the final months of his 41-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud. Later, he was transferred to an ICE detention center before being deported to his native Italy while waiting for the final decision in his deportation appeal.
Then, Joe separated from his wife Teresa Giudice after 20 years of marriage, but he was able to end the year on a happy note by celebrating Christmas with his four daughters: Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10.
Joe took to Instagram this weekend to reflect on the past year, while also making a big promise for 2020. In the caption of a photo collage of his family, the 47-year-old wrote, “I posted this message in morning but I choked up and I took it down then I thought part of regrowth is acceptance!!”
He continued by writing that he has done a lot of self reflection in the past year, and he knows now how to be happy and content with who he is and what he has: “food, bed, air, girls, and family.” Joe says he learned while being locked up that all you have to do is love yourself and be the best.
“I’m letting go of 2019 with my beautiful girls but promising them the BEST of ME IN 2020!!” wrote Joe. “They make me proud in so many ways and are my treasures.❤️❤️❤️❤️ ps didn’t mean to cut my baby out still learning will get in time. 😐”
After Joe and Teresa’s split, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that she has been living the life of a single mother during the past four years while Joe was in prison. She has dedicated herself to her children and career.
The source said that Teresa has known for a while that things weren’t going to work out with her and Joe because they had been through too much to start over. And, she’s “ready for a new start in 2020.”
Joe has been posting up a storm over the weekend and sharing numerous old-school pictures of his wife and daughters. He said that 2019 got him “all sorts of 😢” but he is ready for an exciting ride in 2020. Joe said it was the best week of his life spending the holidays with his daughters.
Joe Giudice added that you can’t change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction. And, all you need is a plan, roadmap, and the courage to press on. And, he is willing to change for his girls.
