John Cena May Be Joining The Cast And Crew Of The Upcoming "Suicide Squad" Sequel

According to a report from UPI.com, John Cena is now reportedly being considered for a role in the Suicide Squad sequel, directed by the Guardians Of The Galaxy director, James Gunn. Scheduled to hit theaters on the 6th of August, 2021, Cena apparently is in consideration to join the movie’s cast.

Among Cena will include other big names like Idris Elba, Jai Courtney, and Margot Robbie. At the moment, it isn’t clear what role John Cena will take on, but presumably, it’ll be a tough guy. Gunn, who’s behind the Guardian films, will helm the project following David Ayer’s departure.

David directed the very first movie, Suicide Squad, and it was released in August 2016 and made approximately $746.8 million all around the globe. This won’t be the first time John has been in a blockbuster action movie. He was last seen in the Transformer’s spinoff movie, Bumblebee.

This is, otherwise, good news for John who has come upon hard times in recent months in his personal life. As it was previously reported, the WWE champion/actor broke up with his fiancée and bride-to-be, Nikki Bella, who was scheduled to get married last year around the same time as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

John and Nikki were slated to tie the knot, but Nikki ended up calling it off due to unmet expectations. Explained simply, Nikki wanted children whereas John didn’t.

Around that time, there were multiple reports regarding their relationship, including one interview in which Nikki said she was seeing a therapist to talk about how she wanted to have children but John didn’t, and how the contrast affected her emotionally.

Just weeks before they were getting married, Nikki and John announced they had called it off. Now, Nikki is dating a new man and John has continued working on his career. As fans of John know, he first came to prominence as a wrestler as a rapper who talked trash about competitors.

According to the wrestler-turned actor’s Wikipedia Page, John turned into a “Superman” like figure. And this has played out in real life as well, considering he’s now one of the biggest contributors to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
