John Oliver did not hesitate to clap back at Jay Leno after he slammed the way late-night shows are nowadays. Here’s what he had to say!

It all started with Leno stating that he would like to see more civility return to the late night format.

Now, in response, The Last Week Tonight’s host slammed the former Tonight Show.

‘I did it when Clinton was horny and Bush was dumb and it was just a little easier…Now it’s all very serious. Everything is just so na—I just like to see a bit of civility come back to it, you know?’ Leno said.

He went on: ‘People say it must be easy to do jokes with Trump. No, it is harder because the punchline used to be ‘That is like the president with a porn star.’ Well, now the president’s with a porn star…how do you get more outrageous than that?’

During last night’s episode, Oliver recalled Leno’s comments while reminding people how the late-night shows would make fun of Monica Lewinsky amid Bill’s cheating scandal.

Oliver slammed Leno by saying that: ‘Many comedians have since expressed regret about things they said, although one who has not and who was among the most relentless was Jay Leno.’

He then showed a clip of the comments Leno had made about her.

Oliver argued that all of those jokes had not aged well and that ‘they’re quite rough, especially coming from a man who this week complained about late night TV, saying he would like to see a bit of civility come back.’

And that was not all! Oliver savagely mentioned a bit Leno did including a fake book about Lewinski that he called ‘The Slut in the Hat.’

Was that ‘civility?’ That is when the host offered his own fake book titled ‘Oh the Places You Can Go F**k Yourself, Jay Leno.’

‘Look how civil I am,’ he mocked. Savage!
