John Batiste was crowned the top winner of the 2022 Grammy Awards he wished for, taking five of the 11 medals.
Singer, musician, composer, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist Jon Batiste became the top winner of the 2022 Grammy Awards this Sunday night, winning five of the 11 medals he aspired to.
The Louisiana native, who also acted his hit “Freedom” during the gala, won Best Album of the Year, Gramophones of the Year for her album “We are” (critically acclaimed category), as well as Best American Roots. Won the award. The song, the best music video, and the best soundtrack for visual media (here paired with Carlos Rafael Rivera, who won for “The Queen’s Gambit”).

The 35-year-old musician has registered with legends such as Willie Nelson, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. He is also known for being Stephen Colbert’s late-night musical director and creative director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, New York.
“I adore music. I’ve been playing since I was a child. Music is more than pleasure; it’s a spiritual exercise,” Batiste added. “I love them, even though I don’t know them.”
His recognizable history already includes Oscars, Golden Globes, and a BAFTA, all for his work on the soundtrack to Pixar’s award-winning animated film “Soul,” which he co-authored with Trent Reznor and Atticus.
Batiste was followed by the eccentric R&B group Silk Sonic, which won four awards: Record of the Year, Best R&B Act, Best R&B Song, and Best Song of the Year, all for their song “Leave The Door Open.
Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. At the end of the ceremony, Paak exuberantly received the award. Mars evolves the only artist, and Paul Simon took home the award three times with this win.
Olivia Rodrigo also polished at the 2022 Grammy Awards, winning three trophies, including Best New Artist.
