Joshua Jackson Shares First Pic Of Daughter And Thanks Jodie Turner-Smith For Making Him A Father

Little Fires Everywhere star Joshua Jackson honored his wife Jodie Turner-Smith on her first Mother’s Day with a sweet Instagram post where he thanked her for making him a dad. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, last month.

“Dear Jodie, On this most special of mothers days I want to thank you for the being the light that you are,” wrote the Dawson’s Creek alum in the caption of a pic of Turner-Smith holding their daughter. “For the passion with which you threw yourself into nurturing and protecting our child when she was in your womb. For the dedication and will you showed bringing her into the world.”

Jackson wrote that he has never witnessed a more powerful being than his wife through those moments. He thanked her for the depth of grace she has found since their daughter arrived, and he added that the commitment she makes isn’t easy, but she makes it look effortless.

The 41-year-old thanked his wife for making him a father and for trusting him enough to embark on this journey together. Jackson says that he is humbled more and more every day by her trust, and he loves seeing her “enter the pantheon of mothers.”

Jackson concluded his message by telling his wife that he looks forward to walking this path by her side as they “nurture this little engine of joy you have blessed the world with.” The actor also told his wife in the post that he loves her.

On April 21, reps for Jackson and Turner-Smith confirmed with People magazine that they had welcomed their first child earlier in the month. The reps said at the time that both mother and baby were happy and healthy.

Neither Jackson nor Turner-Smith have revealed any details about their daughter, but the British actress did celebrate her daughter’s birth on Twitter by writing: “I’m a mother!”

A week later, Turner-Smith posted a picture on her Instagram Story of herself wearing a black nursing bra and a gold necklace that read “PARENT.” The Queen & Slim star wrote over the pic that “Mum=Milk factory till further notice.”

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith were first linked in late 2018, and the couple reportedly tied the knot in August 2019 after they were spotted at a Beverly Hills courthouse picking up a marriage license.
