Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson is celebrating his first Father’s Day after welcoming a daughter with wife Jodie Turner-Smith back in April. And, the 42-year-old says that two very special “supermoms” helped him prepare for fatherhood.

Jackson recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he found out his wife was expecting while filming the Hulu series Little Fires Everywhere. The actor says that his co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington were a great support system and they helped him prepare for the arrival of his daughter.

“I was going through a pretty significant change during the show: I found out my wife was pregnant,” explained Jackson. “So having a collection of supermoms around me helped with everything from finding doctors to baby clothes to ‘what to expect’ advice.”

Both Witherspoon and Washington starred in Little Fires Everywhere and were executive producers of the limited series. Witherspoon has three children: Ava, 20, and Deacon, 16, who she shares with ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, and Tennessee, 7, who she shares with husband, Jim Toth.

Washington is also the mom-of-three kids: Isabelle, 6, Caleb, 3, and her step-daughter from husband Nnamdi Asomugha’s previous relationship.

As for Jackson, he and Turner-Smith don’t share much about their private life with fans, but he did post a beautiful tribute to the Queen & Slim star on Mother’s Day. The actor posted a pic of his wife holding their baby girl, and he wrote in the caption that he wanted to thank her for “being the light that you are.”

Joshua Jackson also thanked Jodie Turner-Smith for the passion with which she threw herself into nurturing and protecting their child when she was in the womb, and for the dedication and will his wife showed when bringing their daughter into the world.

“I have never witnessed a more powerful being than you through those moments,” wrote Jackson. “Thank you for making me a father. For trusting me enough to embark on this journey together.”

When the newborn arrived, a rep for the couple said that both mother and baby were happy and healthy. However, Jackson and Turner-Smith have not yet revealed their daughter’s name or shared any pictures.
