Jussie Smollett 'Devastated' Amid Reports Accusing Him Of Staging Hate Crime And Knowing His 'Attackers!'

Amid reports that he staged the hate crime against him and therefore is ‘familiar’ with his alleged ‘attackers,’ Empire actor, Jussie Smollett has released another public statement via his legal representatives. This comes after, last night, it was announced that the Chicago Police had ‘shifted the trajectory’ when it comes to their investigation of Smollett’s attack.

Apparently, what caused the authorities to do this was them conducting interviews with two different suspects that were then released without charges on Friday night.

As for the statement released by the actor’s lawyers, Todd S. Pugh, and Victor P. Henderson, it claims: ‘As a victim of a hate crime who’s cooperated with the police, Jussie Smollett is both angered and devastated by reports that the perpetrators are individuals he’s familiar with. He’s now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack.’

‘Nothing is further from the truth and anybody claiming otherwise is simply lying. One of these suspects was Jussie’s personal trainer whom he hired to help him physically for a music video. It’s impossible to believe this person could have played a role in the crime against Jussie or that he would falsely claim Jussie’s complicity.’

Finally, the two legal representatives announced that they will not respond to any ‘unnamed’ sources and will continue to be updated on the status of the investigation by the CPD only.

Yesterday, the Chicago Police Department’s Chief Communications Officer, Anthony Guglielmi, told ET that indeed, whatever the two freed suspects had told them during their questioning had ‘shifted the trajectory of the investigation.’

As a result, the authorities have supposedly already reached out to the actor’s team of lawyers to request a new interview with him.
