Jussie Smollett Insists He's Been 'Truthful On Every Level' After Charges Against Him Are Dropped

Jussie Smollett may have told the truth about the alleged hate crime against him after all! After the actor was cleared of the charges, he decided to address his fans, loved ones and anyone else who’s believed in him, thanking them for the support.

Smollett’s legal representative, Ronald Safer talked to HollywoodLife, confirming that all of the charges against his client will be dropped.

The star stressed that he had been nothing but ‘truthful on every level’ throughout the whole investigation.

As you know, the Empire actor was accused of staging his own attack because he was not happy with his salary on the show.

‘First of all I want to thank my family, my friends, all the incredible people of Chicago and all over the country and the world who have prayed for me and showed me so much love. I have been truthful and consistent on every level since day one. I would not be my mother’s son if I was capable of one drop of what I’ve been accused of,’ he said in part, while outside the court.

He went on to admit it was one of the most difficult experiences of his life and to thank his legal counsel and Illinois itself for ‘attempting to do what’s right.’

‘Now, I would like nothing more than to just get back to work and move on with my life. But, make no mistakes, I will always continue to fight for the justice, equality and betterment of marginalized people everywhere,’ he concluded his statement before blessing and thanking his supporters again.
