James Charles is no stranger to controversy. When a hacker got ahold of his personal information, he decided to get ahead of the threat by taking drastic measures.
The Youtuber released his own nude photo on Twitter that garnered thousands of tweets about his decision.
The picture was captioned: ‘hi I got my account back just case I ever get hacked again, here’s the ONLY nude I’ve ever taken! can’t threaten me with it now get a life.’
James was asked on the red carpet at the VMA’s about his decision.
He told a TooFab reporter: ‘Having my safety and everything compromised was very, very horrifying. They threatened to leak my nudes and you know what? I love my body, I’m proud of my booty, so I figured I want to take my power back and post it anyway, have a fun little moment.’
As for the reaction to his post, Charles admitted: ‘I didn’t expect it to be that crazy. I’m just really happy I got everything back and to continue just working hard on all my content.’

Celebrities and accounts with lots of followers are often the targets of hacking. Criminals either threaten to release personal information or delete pages in return for a monetary reward.
Recently, Bella Thorne received criticism for leaking her intimate photos after receiving threats. She was scolded by Whoopi Goldberg on the view who suggested that if she didn’t take those kinds of photos — she wouldn’t be in that situation.
The former Disney Channel star hit back by posting a clip to social media aimed at Whoopi that said: ‘Shame on you, Whoopi … for putting that public opinion just out there like that for every young girl to think that they’re disgusting for even taking a photo like that. Shame on you. Saying if you take a sexy photo, then it basically deserves to get leaked like don’t be surprised at all and don’t feel sorry for yourself.’
She was backed by many public figures who disagree with the View hostess.
