Justin Chambers Announces Exit From ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ After 16 Seasons!

After no less than sixteen years as part of the Grey’s Anatomy family, Justin Chambers is leaving the TV show! The actor announced this in a statement released via Deadline earlier today.

Justin’s character on the beloved medical show is one of the fan favorites so tears are bound to be shed because of his exit.

Furthermore, the actor himself expressed his emotions in his statement so it’s safe to say this is hard on him as well!

‘There’s no good time to say goodbye to such a show and a character that has defined so much of your life for the past fifteen years. For some time, however, I’ve hoped to diversify my acting roles and my career choices. And, as I turn 50 and I am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and 5 wonderful children, now is that time,’ Justin told Deadline.

He went on to mention the last couple of OG actors that have been with the series from the start and still are today, as well as the creator of the series, saying: ‘As I move on from Grey’s Anatomy, I just want to thank the ABC family, Shonda Rimes, original cast Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens, and the rest of our amazing cast and crew, both past and present, and, also the fans for an extraordinary ride.’

As you can imagine, as soon as the sad news reached the fans, social media was filled with messages about it.

Judging by what the users had to say, it was definitely a very difficult thing to hear for them.

Many tweeted about shedding tears over the OG’s exit and made it clear that they will miss him a lot.
