Kandi Burruss And Husband Todd Tucker Get Raw And Honest About The Major Changes In Their Lives

There are many changes taking place in Kandi Burruss’s house after the death of George Floyd on May 25 and the global unrest and marches that have been taking place with the help of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star sat down with Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

She was raw and emotional while explaining that her children, Riley Burruss, 17, and Ace Tucker, 4, had to have deep conversations that led to tears and actions.

The Xscape singer explained that Riley had launched a little movement where she is monitoring all her non-black friends who have not shown any concerns about the protests, BLM, or the fight to end police brutality or racism.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kandi stated: “And from the jump, she was like, and she goes to a school that obviously the minority is black [and] the majority is white. But, she was like ‘OK, I am unfollowing every single friend or person that is nonblack who’s not speaking up about this, who’s not showing that they are an ally with our community.’ She’s like ‘It’s one thing for them say ‘Oh, we’re friends. Oh, we’re cool.’ But if I don’t see some type of something that they’re recognizing what’s happening right now, I’m unfollowing them.'”

The diva continued : “And, she seriously did. She made it like a movement through her whole friend group. If she did not see some type of statement or show that you care, she was unfollowing you — and she was serious about it.”

Kandi went on to say that it has been hard to navigate the difficult conversations about race with her little boy, who is a huge fan of police officers.

Tiny Harris’s friend cried as she revealed: “It was so hard explaining to him that the police can also be the bad guys. He was so confused. And I’m still working on explaining to him the horrific acts of the police. We must have honest conversations with our children and prepare them.”

Todd Tucker also opened up about the painful situation with his son, Ace: “I haven’t been very vocal lately, as my heart has been hurting. My son was a police officer for his career day last year. We were watching the news, and he asked me, ‘the police are bad guys?’ with a puzzled look. He was so confused. And I’m still working on explaining to him the horrific acts of the police. We must have honest conversations with our children and prepare them.”

A lot of families are having those serious conversations at the moment.
