Kanye West Is Still A Donald Trump Supporter For The 2020 Election - Here's Why

Even though it’s not a popular political position among celebrities, Kanye West continues to support President Donald Trump, and the rapper plans to vote for him in the upcoming 2020 presidential election. In a new interview, West pointed out how Trump’s economy has benefited people who build wealth by investing in real estate.

“I’m definitely voting this time. And we know who I’m voting on,” the 42-year-old told GQ for their May cover story. “And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I’m still here! Jesus Is King was No. 1!”

West went on to say that he was told his career would be over if he didn’t support Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016. He then questioned what kind of campaign Clinton was running with a slogan like “I’m with her.” West compared that to Barack Obama running a campaign with the slogan: “I’m with black.”

The Jesus Walks rapper made it clear that everyone has the right to their own opinion, and he believes that the changes Trump has made to the American economy has benefited people who want to build wealth through real estate.

West explained that he buys property, and that is something that isn’t taught in schools. Instead, West says that kids learn how to become somebody’s property instead of being property owners.

Despite the backlash against his political beliefs, West continues to defend Trump just like he did during his Saturday Night Live appearance just weeks before the 2016 election. During the controversial speech, West said that white people ask him how he can support Trump because they believe he is racist. West said that if he was concerned about racism he would have moved out of America a long time ago.

Kim Kardashian’s husband met with the POTUS at Trump Tower in New York City just one month after he was elected, and later visited with him in the oval office. However, by late 2018 West said he was done talking politics because he wanted to focus on being creative.

According to Us Weekly, after facing criticism over designing shirts for the Blexit (black exit) campaign, West made his political views clear before going silent about politics. Kanye West said that he supports creating jobs and opportunities for people who need it the most, as well as prison reform and common sense gun laws.

“I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable. I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war,” tweeted West.
