Kanye West's Hologram Birthday Gift To Kim Kardashian Of Deceased Robert Kardashian Decried As 'Let Them Eat Cake' Moment

Kanye West gifted Kim Kardashian with a hologram of her late father Robert Kardashian for her birthday and though Kim loved the gift, not everyone is thrilled with it. Kim gushed about the gift and called it ‘the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime’ others called it creepy and said it was Kanye’s and Kim’s “Let them eat cake moment.”

The controversy comes as the nation is in the midst of a pandemic and over 225,000 people have died from the deadly COVID-19 novel virus. Some people lost family members without having a chance to say goodbye and they are taking issue that Kanye and Kim are recreating her deceased father and showing off the hologram on social media.

Others found the words that Robert Kardashian said to Kim in the video both creepy and absurd.

Robert Kardashian passed away in July 2003 from esophageal cancer and there is no question that his loss hit his children extremely hard. Kim has even taken up law as she is following in her father’s footsteps.

The video only lasts for two and a half minutes and appears as if Robert Kardashian is speaking to Kim from heaven. First, he talks to her with love and affection and praises her for the beautiful woman that she’s become. Afterward, however; he begins praising Kanye West and refers to him as the ‘most, most, most, most genius man in the world.’

Though Kim loved the message, many of her Twitter fans were taken aback by it.

I lost my dad in 2007. My mom in 2012. If I could see them again, even if it’s a not perfect hologram, it would be very special to just have that visual. Photos are nice but don’t do justice to the sense of someone being present. So leave Rob Kardashian hologram alone
