The custody battle between Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis and her ex and baby daddy, Thomas Ravenel, rages on. And, after a South Carolina judge slammed her for talking about the case during Season 6 after she requested for the case to be sealed, Dennis has now had a minor victory. And, it’s all thanks to Ashley Jacobs’ cell phone.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, a woman named Lara Dawson was roommates with Jacobs between September 2018 and January 2019 – which is after Jacobs and Ravenel broke up – and she has submitted an affidavit that accuses Ravenel of having a drinking problem.

“Whenever she [Ashley] and Thomas would break up, She’d always tell me the truth about what had been occurring over at his house,” said Dawson. “She always talked about his alcoholism, and the fact that she was tired of taking care of his children.”
Dawson also claimed that Jacobs told her that Ravenel once got so drunk he was unable to read his kids a book, and he also heavily relies on nannies to take care of Kensie, 5, and Saint, 3. Jacobs’ former roommate also called the Southern Charm villain “extremely vindictive,” and she submitted text messages between her and Jacobs to prove her claims.
After the judge unsealed the case because Dennis was talking about it on Southern Charm, it turns out that Ravenel was mad about the situation for selfish reasons. Instead of being worried about his children’s privacy, he was ticked off that Dennis was making him look bad on national television.
Ravenel is convinced that Bravo producers – including Andy Cohen – encouraged Dennis to file for primary custody because it would be a dramatic storyline this season, and he believes there is a coordinated effort to bring him down.
The former South Carolina state treasurer has pointed to Dennis’ appearance on Watch What Happens Live to prove his claims. During the appearance, Cohen told Dennis that everyone was rooting for her in the custody case, and that led Ravenel to conclude that they were trying to ruin him.

Meanwhile, Dennis’ co-stars are concerned about how this nasty custody battle is affecting Dennis, and many of them made their feelings clear during a recent episode. Eliza Limehouse said that living in Ravenel’s shadow has had a negative effect on Dennis, and she knows what that’s like because Ravenel is just like her dad.
“I’ve seen what my dad’s life has done to us, and I’ve seen what Thomas’ life has done to Kathryn,” Limehouse warned. “It gets to you and will ruin your life if you let it.”
New episodes of Southern Charm air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
