After postponing their wedding in December, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are now planning an April 2020 ceremony, according to a new report. And, an insider claims that the couple will have one local wedding party and a destination wedding party.
Perry and Bloom ended up changing their wedding date “due to the location they want” and not because there is any trouble in the relationship, says Us Weekly. The publication’s insider says that the couple is “beyond in love,”
In addition to becoming husband and wife, the source claims that Perry and Bloom are also ready to start a family. “Katy wants to have her first kid soon after they get married,” said the insider. This echoes previous claims from other sources that revealed Perry “wants a kid ASAP,” and having a baby is something that Perry and Bloom have “talked about a lot.”
The 43-year-old British actor and 35-year-old Grammy winner met in January 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party at Sunset Tower. And, eyewitnesses claimed that the duo “had a total dance-off” which was the best part of the night.
Perry and Bloom dated for a year, but took a break in February 2017 before rekindling their romance in January 2018. Bloom proposed to Perry on Valentine’s Day in 2019. A source claims that the couple worked out “all their kinks” and have had “really fluid communication about what each of them wants.”
Both Perry and Bloom have talked about the importance of putting in the work and laying a grounded foundation for their relationship. Both have been married before, and it was important to the singer that she didn’t make the same mistakes.
Katy Perry was married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012 before she dated John Mayer on and off for a couple of years. Orlando Bloom was previously married to Miranda Kerr, but they split in 2013. They share a nine-year-old son named Flynn.
Just last month, Perry gushed over Bloom in a birthday Instagram post. The Roar singer shared two pics of Bloom at the pyramids in Egypt, and she wrote in the caption, “Many people wonder how the pyramids were actually built … but me, I am in constant awe and wonder of how such a loving/kind/compassionate/supportive/talented/deeply spiritual/did I mention incredibly good looking/James Bond of a human being can actually exist in the flesh!”
