Kendrick Lamar and his fiancé Whitney Alford have reportedly welcomed their first child together.

US Weekly has confirmed the high school sweethearts are now the proud parents to a baby girl. A source close to the couple revealed Alford gave birth on Friday.

The ultra-private pair kept the pregnancy under wraps and have not spoken out since the baby news broke. Lamar’s rep has also not commented on the news he is a first-time father either.

There are no details regarding Lamar’s first child, other than the baby, is a girl. It is unlikely he or his make-up artist fiancé will speak out on expanding their family for a while.

Lamar and Alford’s desire to keep their family news private has not stopped fans from sharing their good wishes and congratulations with the couple. Twitter has been filled with fans expressing their joy for the new parents.

Lamar rarely speaks out about his private life. However, when he does talk about his life with Alford, he has only beautiful things to say about her.

“I wouldn’t even call her my girl. That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion — she’s somebody I can tell my fears to,” the rapper revealed to Billboard in 2015.

While promoting his album To Pimp a Butterfly in April 2015, Lamar admitted he and Alford were engaged. The couple met at Centennial High School in Compton, California when they were juniors.

They have defied the high school sweetheart and stayed together, even during the time she was focused on studying to be an accountant at California State University. Alford eventually decided to pursue her dream of becoming a make-up artist and has even styled her man for several videos, as well as photoshoots.
