Kim Kardashian Helps Free Florida Inmate Jeffrey Stringer As Reality Star Continues To Pursue Law Degree

Kim Kardashian has helped free another inmate. The reality star and law student shared the exciting news as an update on her official Twitter page. Jeffrey Stringer was serving a life sentence for what Kim described as a low-level drug crime. She and her legal team were able to secure his release under President Trump’s First Step Act.

Stringer received the stiff sentence due to the federal three-strikes law. Though the arrest was low-level, it was his third.

Kim shared the following news and included a photo of his family who was clearly overjoyed that their family member would be home with them.

“We did it again! Had the best call w/this lovely family & my attorney @msbkb who just won release for their loved one Jeffrey in Miami – he served 22 years of life sentence for low level drug case. He served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life saving work.”

Kim Kardashian-West worked with Jeffrey Stringer’s attorney Brittany K. Barnett who founded the organization The Buried Alive Project. According to the project’s website, the Buried Alive Project seeks to enact criminal justice reform and overturn many extreme sentences for drug-related offenses.

The Buried Alive Project states that there are 3,834 people who are serving life sentences without the possibility for parole for drug-related crimes that occurred between 1988 and 2016.

Of those sentenced to federal life sentences without parole, 97 percent are male and only 3 percent are female. Sixty-three percent of those men are black, 18 percent are white, and 16 percent are Hispanic.

Jeffrey Stringer marks the fourth successful case Kim Kardashian-West has been involved in.

Prior to Jeffrey, Kim worked on the Cyntoia Brown case, Alice Marie Johnson case, and the Matthew Charles case.

She went to the White House and met directly with President Donald Trump who has championed legislation to help those who have been incarcerated without hope of freedom find a way back to productive society again.

While some have not responded positively to news that Kim Kardashian-West is studying to become a lawyer, others have stated that she’s inspired younger teens to consider law as a career.
