It was earlier today, while on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that Gillibrand made the exciting announcement, joining Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Hawaii’s U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard on the list of potential female presidents.

Gillibrand made it very clear that not only is she determined to win against Donald Trump and become the first U.S. female president but she is also ready to make all the changes that the country seemingly needs.

‘As a young mom, I am going to fight for other people’s children as hard as I’d fight for my very own which is why I believe healthcare should be a right and not a privilege.’

‘It’s why I think we should have better public schools because it should not matter what block you grow up on and I believe that anyone who wants to work hard should be able to get whatever job training that they need to earn their way into the middle class,’ the politician told the host.

She went on to argue that in order to achieve all that, she needs to first take on ‘institutional racism,’ corruption as well as greed in the political sphere and other social institutions.

After announcing her intention to run for office on TV, she also took to her own Twitter platform to further talk about her enthusiasm and determination to make a change and of course, ask for people’s support.

Meanwhile, according to ABC News, Senator Kamala Harris may also announce her run soon.
