According to a report from HollywoodLife.com, Kodak Black looked ecstatic when he was taken into police custody on the 11th of May following his arrest in Miami for state and federal firearm violations. The 21-year-old star seemed unfazed in a photograph which has subsequently gone viral.

In his matching Gucci sweatshirt and pants, Kodak sits before the camera with his hands behind his back and a smile on his face. Kodak, or Bill K. Kapri, his real name, was taken into custody by the United States Marshals in collaboration with the Miami-Dade police.

There were also the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents there as well. The rapper was slated to take the stage at the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami that very same night claims a report from CNN.

Roberto Gonzalez, who works with the Office of the Southern District of Florida, confirmed the rapper’s status. The Miami Herald reported that they chose to arrest him following a tenuous investigation.

Another star to bail on the festival was Lil’ Wayne, 36, who just released his latest album following a long delay amid a court battle with Birdman and his record label. Lil’ Wayne went on Twitter to explain the situation, stating he was sorry for not making it out for his fans.

Lil’ Wayne said he had to admit to police screenings before going on stage that night, but he refused to do so on principle. Kodak Black was arrested again last month at the United States and Canada border several hours before he was supposed to take the stage in Boston for a concert.

Interestingly, some people have stated this is an example of institutionalized racism, while others on social media have argued that the law is the law. Whether someone is a celebrity or not, is unimportant, and those who break the law should be persecuted in the same way.

This comes after another big name in the game was arrested by ICE, 21 Savage, for out-staying his visa by approximately 12 years. Savage/Abraham-Joseph is actually a British citizen.
