Leah Messer Says It Felt ‘Extremely Vulnerable’ To Open Up About Addiction And Suicidal Thoughts In Her Memoir

Leah Messer was very candid when she wrote her upcoming memoir and that is also why she apparently felt ‘extremely vulnerable,’ especially when opening up about her addiction more than ever! As fans of Teen Mom know, her tell-all titled Hope, Grace and Faith is set to be published in May of this year.

Writing about her life was definitely a journey and Leah tells HollywoodLife that she felt really vulnerable and that ‘The purpose behind the book is for others to also be just as vulnerable and to be able to share their truth without feeling ashamed. For the longest time I believe there were many things in my life that happened and that I felt ashamed of, definitely.’

For those who’ve been keeping up with Teen Mom for years, it’s no secret that Leah has always been open about her life ever since joining the show in 2011.

That also includes opening up about her past addiction to prescription pain killers.

However, her tell-all book includes a lot more details about her struggle with addiction and even about her scary suicidal thoughts.

Leah went on to share with the news outlet that ‘Some of it played out on TV, some of it did not play out on TV because you cannot fit everything into an hour episode. Some things in the book would be the whole situation revolving around me having an addiction and how that happened and where it led me to. I was suicidal and I go into details about exactly how I was suicidal and why. And had it not been for my kids, which is why I named my book Hope, Grace and Faith, I would not be here today. There would be no Leah.’

Furthermore, she stressed that, if not for MTV and her manager, Lindsay Riley, her kids would not have a mother.

Leah then mentioned that while all that is a lot to take in already, her memoir has a lot more to say so fans should look forward to ‘connecting’ with her on a deeper level.
