Liam Nesson is offering a new apology after he realized he completely missed the point when telling his racially-motivated revenge story.
At the beginning of February, the actor made headlines when he told a controversial, yet extremely personal story to The Independent. While promoting his new thriller, Cold Pursuit, Neeson shared he tapped into the character because of his own revenge story.
Years ago, a close friend to him was brutally raped by a black man. The actor admitted to wanting to “kill some black bastard,” as well as sharing he would go up and down the streets with a club looking for revenge on any black man.

His remarks caused severe backlash labeling Nesson a racist. The 66-year-old initially tried to clarify his comments on Good Morning America. However, it appears, since then he has realized he needs to try once again to set the record straight.
“The horror of what happened to my friend ignited irrational thoughts that do not represent the person I am. In trying to explain those feelings today, I missed the point and hurt many people at a time when language is so often weaponized, and an entire community of innocent people are targeted in acts of rage,” the Taken star began his heartfelt apology via Variety.
Nesson is taking full responsibility for his words. He is acknowledging that he failed to realize his many various points during his story, as it impacts people in today’s world.
“What I failed to realize is that this is not about justifying my anger all those years ago, it is also about the impact my words have today. I was wrong to do what I did. I recognize that, although the comments I made do not reflect, in any way, my true feelings nor me, they were hurtful and divisive. I profoundly apologize,” Nesson finished his message.
Liam Nesson has said before that he was horrified by his actions in his racially revenge motivated story. He knows what he did all those years ago was wrong. The father of two insists he is not a racist. It was just a difficult time in his life that Nesson did not handle well. People have not quite forgiven the Hollywood A-lister for his comments, but he is trying desperately to make amends.
