Lil' Durk Mocks Tekashi 6ix9ine's Projected Low Album Sales

Hot New Hop said today that it’s been one week since Tekashi 6ix9ine dropped his brand new project, Tattle Tales, however, it appears as though the controversy surrounding his antics didn’t help album sales.

Initially, it was estimated that Tekashi 6ix9ine would be very close to the number one position with 150,000 units in its first week, however, analysts began predicting that he would only move around 50,000 instead.

Thus far, it’s been reported that Tekashi 6ix9ine’s new record sold 55,000 units, approximately one-third of what was initially expected. Earlier in the week, 6ix9ine reportedly came out to place the blame on other artists and Billboard for his low album sales.

Hot New Hip Hop says Tekashi brought up the names of Lil Durk and Lil Tjay, claiming how his pure sales are actually much higher than what was originally mentioned.

Hip-hop fans know Lil’ Durk always remained cool and collected when dealing with Tekashi 6ix9ine, even when Daniel Hernandez brought up the death of his cousin, Nuski. Regarding his IG post that was clearly in relation to Hernandez, Lil’ Durk revealed some of his new merchandise in support of “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

He wrote in the caption of his post that he wanted to sell “55k worth of Merch like somebody album’s sales otfgear(dot)com.” Currently, Durk is also getting ready to release his next project, The Voice, which will come out not long after Tekashi 6ix9ine dropped his own.

As most know, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been making waves in the headlines ever since he was released from prison, and Lil’ Durk was just one rapper who the performing artist put on blast. Lil’ Durk commented on the 6ix9ine scandal and 6ix9ine quickly fired back.

6ix9ine has become persona non grata in the hip-hop world for ratting out his former associates in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, although, many of the rapper’s younger fans don’t care about what he did.

Hernandez acted as an informant in the federal case, and his testimony led to time behind bars for some of the most prominent members of the group. While it secured an early release for 6ix9ine, it led to a permanently damaged reputation.
