Lil' Wayne's New Record Goes To #1 On Billboard Charts

Lil’ Wayne’s new record, Funeral, went to the number one spot in the United States a new report from UPI stated. The record pushed out the previous top-earner, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, from Roddy Ricch, followed by Music To Be Murdered By from Eminem, as well as Shake The Snow from Russ and Hollywood’s Bleeding from Post Malone.

Some of the other top-charters of the week include When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? from Billie Eilish, High Road from Kesha, and Manic from Halsey.

As most rap fans know, Lil’ Wayne is arguably one of the most influential artists of all time, first coming to prominence in the early 2000s and has since stayed on top, with the exception of a few short breaks. Earlier last year, Lil Wayne was in the headlines for other reasons, however, including his performances while on tour with the early 2000s rock band, Blink-182.

Todd Malm reported back in October 2019 that there were many people on the internet who thought Lil’ Wayne and Blink-182 were feuding on their tour last year. Billboard was the first to report on the story, however, as it turns out, the men got along just fine.

On his Twitter account, for instance, Lil’ Wayne said he considered dropping out of the tour during his 11th of July, 2019, set in Virginia. At the time, it was reported by the media that fans weren’t thrilled to see Lil’ Wayne on tour with the band, however, Blink-182 later confirmed to Billboard that it wasn’t true.

During their chat with Billboard, Blink-182 explained that actually, their fans were more than responsive to Lil’ Wayne, however, he ran into some problems with the police and other people while on tour back in 2019.

Blink-182 shared that there were three problems on tour, including when the police were after Lil’ Wayne, the time he couldn’t get into the venue, as well as his stop during a concert due to a storm in the area.

Hoppus explained that Lil’ Wayne left the stage due to the storm, rather than fan reception. Thousands of fans had been left outside of the venue because of the storm.
