Actress Liv Tyler has no desire to marry her fiancé David Gardner. The couple has been engaged for four years, but Tyler is fine living her life as a fiancé, not a wife.

In the October issue of Tatler magazine, the brunette beauty dishes how happy the couple is with their life right now.

“I love being engaged, but I don’t really have a desire to get married. I always felt like marriage should be more of a reward for surviving your relationship. I feel everyone’s got it backwards,” she shared.

Tyler and Gardner have created quite the comfortable family life together in Britain since they began dating almost six years ago. They became engaged in 2015, shortly after welcoming their first child together, son Sailor.

The couple expanded their family a year and a half later by welcoming daughter, Lula. They are also parents to her teenage son, Milo with her ex-husband Royston Langdon, as well as Gardner’s son Gray, with his ex-wife Davinia Taylor.

“We both wanted to have a family and children and a partnership and love. Our jobs are high stress and high energy and constantly moving, so it’s really just the family part we’re on the same page about, which is amazing because I know that’s often quite tricky for couples,” Tyler explained to the magazine.

The Lord of The Rings star has previously spoken out regarding her perspective on marriage following her divorce.

“I had this philosophy that you should only get married once. But then, of course, that changes. I definitely believe we have lessons we learn through our relationships. You’re meant to work through and mirror each other. It’s the thing in someone that drives you the most crazy that is maybe a part of yourself,” the 42-year-old expressed to More magazine in 2015.

Liv Tyler is happily engaged to sports agent and manager David Gardner. However, she has no desire to take a walk down the aisle again.

They are incredibly committed to each other. The two have built a beautiful family and life together. She doesn’t feel the need to put a ring on it or make their commitment legal in the eyes of the law.

Now that doesn’t mean a wedding isn’t in their future. It merely means Tyler is in no hurry to wed.
