As you know, actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin face federal charges for fraudulently bribing officials in order to get their daughters into prestigious colleges. Ironically enough, one lawyer now explains that, while they did this illegal thing for them, their kids might be required to testify against their mothers in court!

This is what a criminal defense lawyer tells HollywoodLife about the whole Operation Varsity Blues case.

Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have been accused of giving USC coaches no less than $500,000 to have their daughters, Olivia Jade, and Isabella admitted to college as part of the rowing team without actually being on it

Meanwhile, Huffman bribed a test proctor $15,000 to inflate daughter Sofia Macy‘s SAT scores.

The three girls as well as Huffman’s other daughter, Georgia Macy, 17 are apparently allowed to be called to the stand in the court case.

‘There is no such thing as daughter [testimonial] ‘privilege’ or daughter [testimonial]  ‘election’ the way there is, by law, in most situations with spouses in an intact marriage. In other words, a daughter has no right to withhold confidential communications made by a parent if asked about them in court and no right to decline to testify against a parent if so subpoenaed to testify,’ attorney Brad Bailey explained to the news outlet.

However, even though the court has the right to ask the daughters to testify against their parents, it is not to say that it will a hundred percent happen!

‘Whether or not the government would want the negative PR of pitting a daughter against a parent in a court of law against that daughter’s will in a case like this is altogether another question,’ Bailey stated.
