Lori Loughlin Will Serve 2 Months Behind Bars For Her Involvement In College Admissions Scandal

A report from People Magazine today said that Lori Loughlin received two months behind bars for her role in the college admissions scandal. In addition to serving 8 weeks in federal prison, Loughlin will also have to serve 150 hours of community service as well as pay a $150,000 fine.

Prosecutors recommended the prison time to both Lori and her husband which they agreed to as part of their plea deal. Loughlin and her lawyers didn’t go to court. The trial was carried out through a Zoom call, and the Judge, Nathaniel Gorton, accepted the plea deal.

As it was previously reported, the couple was charged in connection with the scandal back in 2019. Both parties were charged with a number of fraud charges, including honest services mail and wire fraud and more.

Followers of the case know Lori and her man fought viciously to beat the charges, however, earlier in the year, both of them agreed to plead guilty amid the coronavirus pandemic. On the 22nd of May, the 55-year-old, Loughlin, pled guilty as did her husband, Giannulli.

It was reported earlier this week that prosecutors had obtained photographs of Isabella and Olivia Jade on rowing machines as if they were a part of the crew team.

It was part of the elaborate scheme, spearheaded by William Singer, to have both of them admitted to the University of Southern California. Two years ago in January, Lori and Mossimo talked with Olivia Jade about their high school counselor and whether she should put the University of Southern California as her first choice in school.

Lori and Mossimo both told their daughter to stay away from the high school counselor and avoid telling him much of anything. Lori reportedly said to her, “don’t say too much to that man.”

Reportedly, Giannulli spoke with the counselor and persuaded him to tell the university that Olivia was a crew team member after he told USC officials it was unlikely she ever rowed crew. Sources said this week that Lori and Mossimo are eager to move on from this stage of their lives and get back to a sense of normalcy after a year of fighting.
