When Full House star Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, rejected a plea deal offered by prosecutors in the Varsity Blues College Admission Scandal, the couple didn’t believe that a prison sentence was a possibility. They thought it was a bluff and were sure they could come to an agreement without spending time behind bars.
After the rejection, they were hit with a grand jury indictment for money laundering, and now the maximum sentence they are facing has doubled. The reality of the situation is finally starting to set in, and Loughlin is reportedly “freaking out” about going to prison.

All of this comes on the heels of news that their daughter Olivia Jade has seemingly cut off communication with her parents and has been seen out partying with her pals. Despite the fact that her parents might go to prison over what they did for her.
“Olivia is focusing all her time on hanging with her friends, a lot of whom are social media influencers and internet stars, and she’s been filming some content with them,” an insider told Us Weekly.
Rejecting the plea means that Loughlin and her husband are now facing 40 years in prison and $1 million in fines for allegedly paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters into the University of Southern California. A plea deal would have probably meant four to ten months in prison, which is what Felicity Huffman is facing now that she has accepted the plea. But, with Loughlin’s rejection, prosecutors are looking to make an example out of her.
“She has been in complete denial and thought maybe she could skate by,” an insider told E! News. “She refused to accept any jail time and thought the DA was bluffing. She was adamant she wouldn’t do any jail time. Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is. She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out.”

Prosecutors reportedly want to make it clear that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law, and they don’t want the perception that rich people can “skate by.” There are also claims that the prosecutors “shopped around” for a judge who would lean their way, and they ended up with Judge Nathaniel Gorton who has a reputation for being tough.
Loughlin and her husband are facing charges of mail fraud and money laundering along with 19 other parents who rejected the plea offer.
Lori Loughlin has also lost her job on Hallmark Channel’s When Calls The Heart. The show was on hiatus when the scandal broke, and now they have officially cut ties with the actress and are “creatively retooling” episodes.
