Louis Tomlinson Reveals Why He And Zayn Malik Haven't Patched Things Up

Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik haven’t been friends for quite some time, but for the most part, fans haven’t been entirely sure why that is? Apparently, Louis claims he and Malik aren’t pals because his mother, Johannah Deakin, passed away and Zayn refused to support him by showing up to his performance on The X-Factor.

During a chat with the host from The Dan Wotton Interview podcast on the 8th of March, Louis dished on the fact that his and Zayn’s relationship never “really got better.”

The 27-year-old said to Dan that he had gotten a couple of calls from other members of the band and they all agreed to be at his performance at The X Factor with Steve Aoki, but Zayn didn’t go.

Despite the fact he never received support, Louis claims he’s just happy that other ex-One Directioners showed him some love. “Harry, Niall, and Liam – that was what I needed that night, that support,” the former pop-star explained.

Louis said that even though he and Zayn are no longer friends, he certainly hopes that Zayn is doing well. As her dying wish, Louis explained, his mother actually wanted him and Malik to become friends again.

He went on to say that it was crazy the way his mother was right about him; she knew him in an intuitive way. His mother understood that what he needed was to reconcile with Zayn. However, that day hasn’t come yet.

Speaking on the possibility of a reunion, Tomlinson claimed he’d be the first one to sign up, but it doesn’t look like that’s a possibility anytime soon. Both Harry Styles as well as Zayn Malik have successful music careers, and Liam Payne has a child with Cheryl Cole, although, the two have since split up.

What other fans have pointed out online is the fact Zayn has rarely spoken about the other ex-members of the band even once, whereas, Tom, Niall, and Liam have discussed it more than once.

But after Zayn’s split from supermodel Gigi Hadid, the media has almost entirely stopped worrying about him. Similar to Tyga following his breakup with Kylie Jenner, the media rarely discusses Zayn anymore.

Zayn’s latest album, unfortunately, didn’t do as well on the charts, debuting at just number 77 following his debut record hitting number 1 in 2016.
